We continued through where it looked to go, and that led to an overlook of Duck Lake.
I had us take one unmarked option that started out as trail that became an overgrown whatever. A ways up, we'd see some signage regarding the trail, followed that trail, but there were no maps and only intermittent and unclear signage after that. We would find that the Weatherwax area, an approximately rectangular area on the west side of Duck Lake was to the left/east of us. And, there are lots of trails that go through what we'd discover to the southeast of this, generally flat, but poorly marked.Īnyway, we headed south along this wide dirt path between the trees and power lines. On the map I'm looking at now, it would be as if Dolphin Ave NE extended south of Ocean Lake Way NE, it's indicated as Draconis Ave SE.yes, SE! But, it's a dirt path that's wide enough for a vehicle, but it's not a street! It does indicate it's Weatherwax, though. These trails can be tricky to find: our GPS took us to a location next to a Elks Lodge on Ocean Lake Way NE without much of a semblance of a trail.
